Motorola DROID MAXX leaked, headed for Verizon later this year

Just a few days after two Motorola devices for Verizon made their ways through the FCC, leakster extraordinaire @evleaks is giving us a look at what one of those phones might be. The Twitter account has released a leaked press image of the Motorola DROID MAXX, a smartphone said to be headed our way this year. The device pictured shows off the edgy curves and contours Motorola is known for, and if we’re not mistaken it should also be Kevlar-clad (the texture on the bottom bezel tips us off to that much).

That’s where known knowledge about this phone ends, though. Verizon has also been tipped to be readying a “Motorola DROID Ultra,” and we’re expecting the nation’s largest carrier to offer the Moto X, as well. We’re not sure if this DROID MAXX is supposed to be a renamed version of the former, though we can rule out this being a variant of the latter — the Moto X will be the Moto X.

Unfortunately we don’t have much of a clue regarding the specs this thing will boast, but the MAXX name suggests it’ll have a pretty sizable battery, and it should come with specs decent enough to get a power user through their daily tasks. Tell us what you think about it in the comments section below.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
