asus computex 2013 teaser

It’s almost that time again, folks. ASUS’ favorite technology show, Computex, is on the horizon, and the manufacturer is beginning to tease us about upcoming announcements as it has shown a propensity to do. The deed was done on Google+, and ASUS mentioned the first hint: “it’ll move you.” We’re not sure what that’s supposed to mean just yet, but anything is possible.

We typically expect new phone and tablet announcements from ASUS at these events, but everything we know so far doesn’t give us the slightest clue on what to expect. The image featured in the Google+ post shows some kind of circular metallic surface, though without more of a bird’s eye view it’s hard to make anything of it.

We’ll be keeping our eye on ASUS next week as it breaks the news in its press conference, but for now we’re left to our own devices to figure out what this announcement entails. Be sure to drop your predictions (or even your hopes and wishes) in the comments below.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  6. Hoping for an ungraded Transformer Infinity 2. Perhaps “it will move you” indicates that it will be an actual transformer that turns into a vehicle for fun.

  7. It might be a Android tablet, it could be a Windows Tablet. Asus does dip into both pools after all. There’s the outside shot at a Nexus 7-2 I suppose as well.

  8. ASUS Phones in the US

  9. Since ASUS refuses to get my OG Transformer to Jelly Bean and my Transformer Prime to 4.2+, I’m done with ASUS unless they make another Nexus device. They used to be the best OEM for upgrades, but obviously there is a short limit for that as the TP wasn’t even supported for a full year after release.

    1. its possible they’ve given up on support in favor of the new lines. If you don’t have a nexus device updates are not guaranteed.

    2. They were the first to release 4.2 for their newer tablets though. I’ve always considered Asus to be the best OEM for software updates.

  13. My guess is that its the new Padfone, and what we are seeing is the bottom edge where the phone docks with the tablet. Of course it could be Asus’s Steam Box, which would be just as awesome

  14. Nexus 7 (2) or GTFO.

  15. Butterfly display with bezeless center. Twist the disk on back, one bezel edge drops away, the second display slides from underneath and your 5-inch phone becomes an 8-inch tablet. The Transformer Twist.

  16. A dvd player?

  17. It probably has something to do with it’s collaboration with Leap Motion.

    1. Actually I think you hit it on the button.
