Originally pegged for a February release, the ARCHOS GamePad has gone on sale in the US. Better late than never, right? The Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet/gaming handheld hybrid features a 7-inch display, 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with Mali 400MP graphics, and 1GB RAM.
The portable only ships with 8GB of internal storage, but features microSD expandability up to 64GB. Dual 1.2MP and 2MP cameras feature on the front and rear respectively. The biggest draw, however, is the GamePad’s built-in controls. Bordering the slate’s display is a full suite of D-pads, buttons, and analog sticks for all the gaming you could dream of.
The GamePad comes in at an easy-to-afford price level. $179 gets you the tablet.
as a former Archos customer, please stay away. their product look ok on paper and have an attractive price tag, but you get what you pay for with them. So many headaches from an Archos tablet.
This isn’t for sale yet ? Post an actual link where you can click “Buy”. This is just the link to the product page.

The processor is a piece of Junk. They use Rockboys, or something like that. Look up there site. Tell me you’ll buy this tablet after that.
I see the same problem as with the xperia play.
a previous generation processor in a gaming device.
Nvidia can show how it’s supposed to be done
yup. the xperia play was using adreno 205 while boasting a device that suppose to be superior in gaming.
8GB? Seriously?! I have more than 8GB worth of games on my phone…and it’s a PHONE. And an SD Card is useless for this because Android 4.0 doesn’t have apps2sd (not that playing a game off of an SD Card was ever a good experience). There are games on the Play Store that are over 1GB now.
I guess Archos expects everyone to uninstall their games all the time and lose their scores? Sorry Archos, I wouldn’t buy this for my 6 year old.
8gb?! okkkk um anyone know if it has a micro sd card slot? if not this is a fail lol
If you would read 10 words after the mention of 8GB, you would see that is has expandability via MicroSD. Read.
Thank you sorry
It really depends on the on how good the screen is and the quality of the buttons , since most Chinese tablets are based off dual-core processors paired with the Mali 400 GPU and are a bit cheaper than this thing…
Only a 1,024 X 600 resolution? That’s a deal breaker for me.
