Google is on quite a roll today after the announcement that they’ll be killing off Google Reader come July, it looks like another popular item could be getting the axe as well — the official Nexus 4 bumper case. The listing on Google Play is now showing the description “Nexus 4 Bumper (Black) is no longer available for sale,” which sounds a bit ominous and has us questioning if it’ll ever come back.
Furthermore, a quick hope onto the Nexus 4 listing has removed the accessory from the page entirely, leaving the Wireless Charger as the sole Nexus 4 accessory. But just because it may have been removed forever off the Play Store doesn’t mean you wont get another chance to buy one. Official LG Nexus 4 bumper cases have been popping up at wireless retailers (even in an all new white option) and there are still these pretty snazzy Poetic bumper cases in a variety of color options from Amazon at half the price.
Historically, Google has been blatantly disrespectful with accessories support.
I was just thinking this! My gnex would have had fun….so would I. Instead I just got a case.
Also with LTE support.
Tell me about it, I was hoping on getting a dock for my vwz G-Nexus and as you may know, it was never made available…ggggrrrr

Chris, I hope you see this and can ask if other users are having similar problems.
1st – I tried w/ the nexus 4 community on g+, I and several others seem to have a problem w/ the nexus 4 wireless charing orb SLIDING issues. The phone will NOT stay on the orb. People are getting replacements, I have yet to do it. Can you see if others are having problems maybe w/ a post? I am curious if Google needs to address this more widely.
2nd – I have the poetic case you mentioned in the blog here, but it won’t work properly w/ the orb either. Now that I can’t get the official bumper (possibly ever) I wonder what the solution is. The poetic bumper interferes w/ the orb and won’t connect w/ the tacky/sticky material.
Just might wanna let others know before you announce the poetic option out there….
Please, others chime in, I need feedback.
also the poetic bumper (earlier and some newer ones) tends to .. separate, leaving the bumper useless i got one, and its sitting on my room because all the rubber part is torn apart from the plastic one, i ordered the abacus bumper and i hope to get it tomorrow

Shenit bumper replica from Amazon is cheap and great
I have one, ended up taking it off after a few weeks and just switching to a pouch. Hate the extra bulk any case adds to the phone. As for this event… google is bad accessories for the Nexus. Always have been. Its one of the few things that disappoints me about having a Nexus.
Heavens! Now it won’t pass the crash test! Might as well throw mine away.
