The Android Overload is where we feature the biggest news stories from throughout the day (see above video), as well as stash all of the stories/articles/news bits that didn’t make it onto our front page. But just because they weren’t featured doesn’t mean they aren’t worth taking a look at. In fact, there’s almost always a little something here for everyone. So, take a look around and let us know if you find any gems.

  • New to the Play Store is Songstone, an app that plays music through your earpiece while you wait for a caller to answer. Kinda cool but really, who places calls anymore? [Google Play]
  • Instabridge lets you share your WiFi with friends, and vice versa. It’s like a social network with hotspots. Genius! [Google Play]
  • Google begins testing Shopping Express for same day shipping. Partners with Target and other local retailers in San Francisco. [TechCrunch]
  • Hurrah! Google is granted a patent for Face Unlock, flaws and all. [PatentBolt]
  • US Federal Trade Commission warns advertisers about placing promotional messages on mobile and social media platforms like Twitter. [Reuters]
  • If you were curious as to the what were the US’ top ranked pornographic search terms, look no further. New York likes their college girls, while California has a thing for Asians. Texas? Why, teens of course. Finland likes ’em “mature.” Wow. Let’s just file this under Android porn, shall we? (Obviously, not suitable for work). [PornMD]
  • Amazon Prime is a huge success. More than 10 million served (myself included). [BGR]
  • Samsung goes with the PowerVR SGX 544 IP in the Exynos 5 Octa CPU, not an ARM’s Mali GPU. [Anandtech]
  • Google X Labs is getting ready to announce another “moonshot” next month. Can’t wait. [TNW]
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 visits the FCC. Release is soon upon us. [FCC]
