Sprint LG Optimus G Jelly Bean roll-out begins

Sprint users waiting on Jelly Bean for the LG Optimus G should check their handsets. A few reports have come in apparently confirming the beginning of a roll-out phase for the phone on the Now Network. Reports have been sporadic, but there are more than enough independent reports to make us believe this thing is actually rolling out.

Of course, checking for the upgrade in the software update might not always yield desirable results. Big updates like these tend to come in via a staggered process, so you might not be able to get the download for a week or two… or three. Maybe. We’ll keep an eye out on the scene for you, but if you’ve already gotten it be sure to chime in below and in this thread over at AndroidForums.com.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. 4.1 or 4.2. There is a difference.

    1. is that a serious question? have you been in the U.S. with a Non-GSM Nexus at all in the past 3 years? of course its 4.1.x lol.

    2. 4.1.2, I’m sure. No way a carrier interfered with model will get 4.2.1 or .2 before the international model does.

Of course, I’m also sure I’ll be waiting for AT&T for a while longer with my 4.1 update.

  2. Hopefully that means it is only a matter of weeks before Canadian carriers get it. The ICS build they released is really great, and the only feature I miss is Google Now. I’m not sure how much it can gain from Project Butter.

  3. Just waiting on a rooted flashable zip now

  4. I knew it I knew it!!!!!! I knew this would get updated before at&t’s One X.

    1. Lmaoooooo

  5. Obligatory comment about my Nexus 4 already having 4.2.2

  6. Hopefully Rogers starts the rollout soon. I only need Google Now. Project butter isn’t needed not this beast.

  7. The good part of the LG optimus G, it`s one of the best, even it running ICS, if, it has the Google now it`ll be perfect. The owners of this phone they`ll not going to see much of differnt after the update beside Google Now.

    1. Google Now is awesome, but don’t underestimate the advances due to “Project Butter.”

      1. At least the build of the LG Optimus G it’s solid with a good hardware too. With the JB now, that’s the awesome thing.

  8. The Optimus G on At&T on ICS already beats every benchmark of the Nexus 4.
