Could Kickstarter become your go to gift giving source for 2012? [POLL]

Happy holidays, Phandroids! As always, people are starting the scramble for perfect gifts and I’m just now adding my own input to our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide. Some of my picks are a bit odd and unusual, but I think/hope you’ll appreciate that fact as it can be hard to find original and unique ideas.

Why not hit up Kickstarter, find a few really cool and exciting projects, and become a backer on behalf of your gift’s recipient. You’ll most likely have to give them an IOU with the actual pledge printed on a piece of paper, but it provides a very unique gift experience and the person can track the progress from funding to fruition. It provides a VIP type of entrepreneurial feeling without requiring a huge investment. Not to mention, you can search specifically for Android related gifts or browse the entire collection of projects to find gift giving opportunities for everyone you know, from your little brother to your grandma.

I’m also travelling a lot, so I headed up the “Gifts for the WORLD TRAVELER” section of the Gift Guide. I’ll likely add a few more as the holidays roll on, so if you’ve got ideas of your own, please leave them in the comments.
