Walmart and T-Mobile partner to offer Samsung Galaxy S2 off-contract for $300

15

T-Mobile is partnering up with WalMart to offer a retail exclusive deal on the Samsung Glaxy S2. The GS2 will be offered as a premium device on TMo’s Monthly4G plans. That means you get all the power of the still respectable handset from Samsung alongside unlimited data, unlimited text, and 100 minutes of talk time all for only $30 per month without any contractual obligations.

The Galaxy S2 itself will retail for $299.99, so it’s not the cheapest up-front cost. But that’s the price for going with a two year obligation to a cell provider. The new deal is available as of today. The phone can also be paired with WalMart’s Family Mobile plan starting at $45 per month for the first line.

No Annual Contract Samsung Galaxy S II at Walmart (9/4/12)

Today, T-Mobile and Walmart announced a national retail exclusive of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S™ II as a no annual contract kitted option, providing a premium smartphone experience at a discounted price for no annual contract customers. Now available, the Galaxy S II costs $299.00 when paired with a T-Mobile Monthly4G no annual contract plan of $30 per month or higher.

The Monthly4G $30 per month plan offers unlimited Web, with the first 5 GB at up to 4G speeds; unlimited text; and 100 minutes of talk, with 10 cents per minute after the first 100 minutes. In addition, Monthly4G plans require no annual contract, no credit check and no deposit, offering great value and flexibility to customers.

With the addition of the Galaxy S II to the lineup of no annual contract devices offered at Walmart, customers have access to premium devices, fast nationwide 4G network speeds and affordable service plan prices – all without an annual contract.

The Galaxy S II is also available through Walmart’s Family Mobile service, a monthly, no-annual-contract wireless plan powered by T-Mobile’s nationwide network. The Walmart Family Mobile Unlimited Talk, Text and Web plan is $45 per month for the first line and $35 per month for additional lines, and provides unlimited access to Web surfing, data and social media for all lines on the account (base plan includes the first 250MB per month at up to 3G speeds). Available at Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com, Walmart Family Mobile was designed with families in mind and is one of the best value options available on any national carrier.

Currently, T-Mobile services, as well as a wide range of smartphones and handsets, are available at Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com.

  1. That is a really good offer.

  2. Nice, was getting sick of this Galaxy Exhibit… Can’t wait to grab that.

  3. Hell of a deal. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m locked into TMO for a few more months (or that I diidn’t want a Note) I’d jump all over that.

  4. None of the walmarts around here have it! It’s not an online only thing is it?

  5. FYI I work for Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is forcing customers to activate the prepaid plan, or the $45 Family Mobile plan in order to purchase the phone. Tmo doesn’t want people buying this for $299 just to replace their broken smartphone, or to avoid renewing a 2 year contract.

    1. That’s what I was afraid of, I can’t believe they still want people to pay $549 for it when the S3 is only a little more.

    2. I know they haven’t told us anything about forcing this to be activated with a Family Mobile plan. We were told we could sell it out right. I know that’s the focus, to push the phone with that plan, but it doesn’t always happen that way.

    3. is the black version the only choice or is the white one available

  6. Omg… I am so mad, the website claims that phone won’t work in my zip code! Why does this exhibit work here but not that one?!

  7. Gsm galaxy nexus is much more compelling…only $50 more and much better…

  8. Wow, sold out online already too. This sucks.

  9. I got one free on contract O.o

  10. Edit: GS2: $345.00

    :)

  11. I don’t know why they are just announcing this. I work for Walmart (not by choice, in college), and we have been selling this phone for the past month and a half with “Family Mobile”. It’s still part of T-Mobile, so if you bought the device you can stick any T-Mobile Sim card and it works with no problem. I’m guessing they are just now going to be sending it in a magenta cardboard box like the rest of the prepaid?

  12. just wondering could i get the white version in this bundle instead, black is just too plain. does anybody know or have ordered it?
