Instagram for Android adds Nexus 7 support, Flickr sharing

7

It was once believed that Instagram for Android wouldn’t be avialable for the Nexus 7 due to absence of a rear camera on the device. After all, what good is a photo app on a device that doesn’t have a main camera? Fortunately, the folks at Instagram realized that a front-facing camera was still a camera, and that the device should be supported for those who are into self-portraits. Instagram also has the ability to share photos to Flickr, functionality I’m sure many people won’t mind having. Get on over to the Google Play Store and grab the 13MB download.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. 13 Megabytes is better than the 28 it used to be

  2. Where’s the Google plus sharing

    1. I doubt we’ll ever see it since Facebook bought Instagram.

    2. I just checked this morning and its still not open to the public (Google+ API). When it is..I will update the Phandroid News app to include it.

…btw, update tonight will not include it just to prevent confusion.

  3. my phone wont let me dowload this app. i had this app for a while and had to delete it bc my memory was full. so i love this app and id like it back ,so how could i get it back :((

    1. They may have stopped support on your OS version. I think you can view what SDK’s each update supports on the play store.

  4. Says my phones not supported as well (HTC Glacier). Been sideloading each apk update without issue.

Paypal here has the same issue. I was invited to join, found my phone is “incompatible” (sic, google play store). The Devs were easy to contact to spew BS while I offered to beta test for them. Sideloaded the apk from a friend, which activated the shipping of the device, it works perfectly.

    This is a problem.
