Duracell Powermatt WiCC promises to bring wireless charging to all smartphones

5

Wireless charging is a neat idea that has so far been hampered by overpriced and way to huge devices. But that could all change if Powermatt has its way.

The WiCC card is a wafer thin that connects to your battery, as long as the battery connector has a few leads made available for it. Hence, manufacturer cooperation is necessary, but the card doesn’t just offer wireless charging: it also doubles up as an NFC card.

It won’t be available for a while, but the potential is huge. As long as the manufacturers support the cause.
