Samsung to launch Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus N in Germany

5

Just as the company did with the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung is releasing a modified version of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus in Germany. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus N is a mouthful of a name that can be traced back to a court ruling banning the sale of the device after Apple filed claims of patent infringement. In order to get around the injunction, Samsung has made the necessary changes to the overall appearance of the tablet. They do so with greater confidence after a German court ruled that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N was different enough from Apple’s iPad to avoid falling under the ban.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus N carries the same specs as the original with a 7-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, and 1GB of RAM while measuring only 9.9mm thick. It will be available later this month in WiFi (€499)and 3G (€569) editions and two color options, pure white or metallic gray.

  1.  I just bought me one of these and realized that the 7.0 plus N model is missing the InfraRed port of the 7.0 plus (without the N). It’s a bit sad because I was looking forward to replace all those remote controls in my living room.

Beside that issue it is a really nice device. :-)

  2. it’s actually been available here for quite some time now. wondering why they released that press statement this late..

  3. And the N is for Nonsense, stupid lawsuit.
