Rumor: Samsung Not Announcing Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress

15

After a couple of reports that Samsung would indeed be revealing the Samsung Galaxy S III at the 2012 Mobile World Congress, some new reports have surfaced suggesting that they won’t. German site BestBoyz reports that Samsung has delayed the announcement but no reason was given. Anything from production issues to logistics could cause the delay but some suggest that Samsung doesn’t want to announce the device too early and have non-Korean regions waiting months on end. We’re not sure what to believe anymore and that’s why it’s always best to hold your horses before getting excited about any rumor. We’ll take this one with a grain of salt, as well. The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Makes sense. It seems a little early to be showing off a phone with a Cortex-A15 chip.

    1. yeh (no idea, what chip that is) but I expected it to be really high-end stuff so too early for it.

  2. I also think its because the A-15 chip isnt ready yet. For me, i wouldnt buy a galaxy s3 without an A15 chip. Don’t want any A9 Quadcores either.

    1. agreed

  3. I shall patiently wait for a phone capable of a gamecube emulator. =.D

  4. Rumor – Samsung not announcing Samsung Galaxy S 7 at MWC.

    I can do this too!

  5. I guess I will have to be happy with my gsm galaxy nexus until it is released then. Beside, I’ve given more than enough money to Samsung over the past year. Samsung captivate, Samsung nexus s from Canada, sgs2 international version, Samsung galaxy tab, Samsung infuse, Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, and most recent my gsm galaxy nexus.
My wife might divorce me if I ask for another Samsung device, I’ve already been hinting around about the gsm galaxy tab 7.7.

    1. “if I ask”
      LMAO

  8. They probably want to create a special even for this phone as in Galaxy Nexus. It makes sense, this will probably be the strongest Android device this year, unless Google plans to release another Nexus by years end.

  9. It will not be out for the us until next year if Sammy did.

  10. This could actually not be a production issue but more of a marketing/sales concern. They want to sell the many (new) Galaxy S2 phones being released in the US and elsewhere. Last year it took around 8 months from the GS2 being announced at MWC to make it’s way to the US on Sprint. This year they should wait until they can release the device with less delay on availability by region and it might help sales of their existing GS2 models since they won’t be considered ‘obsolete’.

  11. Thats ok, I still dont have a S2 and im still using my S1

  12. My guess is that the Galaxy S3 will be released in the later part of the year, the best way to market in the new age is let the consumers build up the hype by releasing rumours for months while the manufacturer Samsung in this case sits back and gets free advertising.
