It looks like we’ll be waiting even longer for Samsung’s official set of accessories for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. While their batteries and extended batteries have already been made available but the official meat and potatoes – car docks, desktop docks, multimedia docks, cables and the like – are just about a myth at this point. UK retailer Clove tells us we’ll have to wait nearly another month for the accessories – February 13th, to be exact. Not the greatest of news but some of us are just happy that they’re coming at all. +1 for sucking. is making a plastic dock really that difficult?
Designing injection molded plastic parts can be very difficult. Upfront tooling for something of that volume could easily be in the millions or tens of millions. You mess up one thing and you’re screwed.
True, however, how long has the design for the phone been out? Samsung is not a poor business, and im sure they have many checks and balances. +1 for sucking…
God I want that phone. Its the only one that’s came out since I picked up my evo 4g that would actually be better I think. I love my evo and will hold onto as long as I can, but damn I want that nexus!

If Barry Horowitz was in charge of Samsung’s accessory department we would have had all the docks months ago.

verizon has the HDMI dock (i.e. portrait dock) available right now. They also have the “pin less” car mount.
What’s all the bitching about? the only thing missing is the landscape dock and the car dock with pins.
i know they have the car mount (lacking charging), but although i have seen pictures i didn’t see the portrait dock available. do you have a link? me personally i want a portrait dock but could care less about hdmi.

i was pissed off that verizon didn’t sell any docks yet so i contacted them (phone and chat), both told me the portrait was available online. when i didn’t see it, they texted me a link to the mobile store.
Why has the phone, its release, and everything involved with it been so poorly handled?
Google, if you are reading this NEVER do another Dev phone launch with Samsung again. Between Samsung and Verizon I have never seen such a poorly run launch of a device ever.
