Grand Theft Auto 3 Goes on Sale for $3, Adds Galaxy Nexus Support

The fine folks at Rockstar are giving us a nice gift for the holidays. While this gift doesn’t come free it does come at a reduced price that we absolutely can’t be mad at. It’s the Android version of Grand Theft Auto 3, of course, and it can be had for just $3 until the 29th. The classic sandbox crime series got its 3D start with this game on the Playstation.

Fast forward to now and you can blow cars up and extort people for money on your smartphone. And for those on a Galaxy Nexus, you’ll finally be able to enjoy the game on the beautiful 4.65 inch HD display as they’ve added support for the phone with this update. Go ahead and grab the game from the Android Market here before Claude shows up at your doorstep. [via Droid-Life]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. $10? I thought it was originally $5

    1. The title says $3, so maybe the $10 is a typo.

    2. Sorry about that. Not sure why I had $10 on the brain. It most certainly is $3. Thanks!

    1. I feel your pain :(

  2. It’s not showing up on my Market anymore… And the web Market says it’s incompatible with my Galaxy Nexus.

    1. Yup they allowed gn owners to buy before when it wasn’t compatible, but as they added the gn compatibility they also removed the device from compatible devices… Smart move..

    2. same here

  3. $10?  and PlayStation?  Maybe the original GTA, this was originally on PS2.

  4. I wouldn’t want to play GTA on a phone screen, which leads me to the question…

What options are available for HDMI mirroring on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus?  I saw a dock for the other version that doesn’t seem to be available from Verizon.

    1. Just grab a generic MHD microUSB-to-HDMI addapter and you can easyly, and without any special hardware, software, apps or anything. Thanks to ICS ;)
such a Addapter as China-Rebuild is jsut about 10Bucks

      1. Does it do full mirror?  Or is it only on certain apps?

      2. Its an MHL not mhd…I ordered one thatmany people in said worked.  Will get it tomorrow:

  5. Why are none of the great games available for the Droid razr? I had the same issue with my disastrous piece of crap Samsung captivate, and I thought for sure I was going to be golden with the razr… I’m beginning to feel like an idiot for buying this phone.

  6. I got this for 3quid day after it came out on market and since they released an update it just freezes it worked fine before update but as soon as it was done it became unplayable on My Xperia Play.

  7. I bought it earlier for the gnex and it works amazingly. It was originally 5 bucks and has 10% off

  8. @Mike same with the rezound (minus GTA 3) almost none of EA’s good games and almost all of gamelofts aren’t supported

  9. Its not in the market for my Evo 3d but that didnt stop me from side loading the apk game works great on it if they dont want to sell it to you do what you got to do

  10. I actually skipped playing this when the game was out and relevant… I just might have to buy this one for a time killer on air planes and such.

  11. Not worth buying IMO.  The graphics aren’t great, it eats up the battery, driving cars is difficult.

I much rather have GTA 2  (top-down view).

  12. Anybody else not getting sound during gameplay on GNex?
I get sound on the intro screens but that is it???
