The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. how much is that in american dollars

  2. $678? not a bad price for unlocked phone – assuming US could get it at that price

    1. Sounds believable. I would expect a phone like this to come out just under $700 unlocked.

    2. Since we don’t have to pay VAT, it should be maybe $600 for the US. Hopefully we’ll see it at a real retailer in the US for T-Mo (with warranty)

      1. I hope you’re right, and hopefully we’ll see it soon.

  3. Any idea when VZW is going to announce this baby and put it up for pre-order?

  4. Bare in mind that Clove really aren’t the cheapest, tend to be first but if you look at what they charge for phones like the S2 or sensation there a lot more than say amazon or play.com

  5. With the advent of things like Spotify and Google Music, I’m less inclined to keep much music on my phone anymore. Now I just sync music if I’m getting on a plane. 16GB is plenty of space if you fall into this category.

  6. I guess this is a guess price on there behalf, I can see the price dropping below £500 closer to release date.

  7. I’ll still be jumping at the 32GB version. Too many large apps out there now that I’ve got on the device, and surely more to come in the future. Currently, my device has 4GB left on 16GB SD and about 14MB left on 512MB internal. All my apps are on the SD with the exception of a very small selection that cannot be moved for performance reasons. I don’t have any media on my device other than photos that I recently took. With G+ instant upload enabled I remove them pretty quick from the device. I would like the extra storage on the GNexus for movies, which I have had to remove the few I did have on my phone because of storage limits. I don’t like having to stream movies.

  8. does anyone know if this is the HSPA+ version? and band frequencies?

this might be the only hope us Canadians will get to get one relatively early if it’s hspa 850/1900…

also, any note if it’s dual mode or whatever it’s called? (42mbps instead of 21)

    1. From my research I think it could run on T-mobile but it will only be 21Mbps. Im still waiting on my SGSII to come in the mail. Im going to enjoy that for a while until I can learn more about he Galaxy Nexus/ICS. If I feel the need to jump on it I will give my girl my SGSII and get it.

  9. $600 or more for a 16GB phone without an option to increase the memory is plain madness. Sorry Google, you shattered my dreams.

    1. Are you saying no sd card slot?
      that blows ass.
I will say though with how easy it is to get things transferred off the phone may not be a big deal for me personally but I can see that being a big problem for media consumers.

  10. BTW, Expansys have a pre-order for the 16 and 32gb version of the nexus, but not price.

  11. I don’t understand. the announcement says its 4g, while Clove are saying its 3g! so which is it? maybe Clove are selling the Indian version, hence the cheaper price?!
