Well, I didn’t see this one coming. Remember the Dell Streak 5 and Streak 7? Well, it looks like Dell isn’t quite ready to give up on at least one of those devices. The Dell Streak 7 will reportedly see an update soon, jumping all the way from Android 2.2 Froyo, straight to Android 3.2 Honeycomb. A few demo units were spotted running the latest version of Android at IFA with Dell’s “Stage UI” thrown into the mix as well.
Exactly when the update will begin rolling out wasn’t mentioned but seeing how Honeycomb is already up and running on these demo units is a good indication we wont have to wait long. Dell’s 7-inch tablet has some fairly good specs with its Nividia Tegra 2 processor but unfortunate 800×480 resolution screen. If this sounds like your cup of tea, you may want to start scouring Craigslist for a great deal on one of these bad boys in the meantime.

Yay! It will become a legitimate tablet!
The day that happens, I’ll buy. Love my Streak 5. A Streak 7 will be perfect for around-the-house browsing. I can also take all my kids’ games off my phone and put them on this.
I’d get this if it still weren’t like $300 on ebay
$250 on CL….

Wow, other manufacturers need to take note! Most of them have struggled to update 2.2 -> 2.3.. and here Dell is providing a massive update!
.Need to update the damn streak 5 to at least 2.3 before they abandoned it. Love this phone but i feel dell shaftes us a little. Was thinking of getting a streak 7 but was afraid of getting shafted on that too.
