Samsung Delays Australian Launch of Galaxy Tab 10.1

3

After promising to release the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on time despite current litigation with Apple, Samsung has wised up and delayed the launch of their Android slate in Australia pending the result of a court ruling to be handed down the week of September 26th. The Australian case is just one of many in which Samsung is defending their right to sell tablet and smartphone products in the face of Apple’s allegations of blatant patent and design infringement. So far, preliminary rulings in European courts have favored Apple, but Samsung hopes to have initial decisions overturned upon review and plans to countersue.

  1. I don’t know if I would quite say that “preliminary rulings in European courts have favored Apple…” There was the judge who wrote a 28 page paper on all of the patents that Apple claimed were being infringed upon, dismissing most, if not all, of them citing prior art. Plus, Apple falsifying evidence twice weakens their case as well, lending them to look more like crying children than legal-minded adults.

    1. agreed. technically samsung (and android) won! the only remaining issues is the android gallery. which samsung said they will re-do. EVERYTHING else apple made a claim about was dismissed as prior art. why isnt this a big deal?? or was it…i know it was on my trip back from miami last week.

  2. You wonder why apple sues them. Look at that picture. Stop trying to be like apple you will never be as good as them.
