[Update: WiFi Cert, Too] HTC Vigor Hits Bluetooth SIG Packing BT 3.0

23

The HTC Vigor (ADR6425LVW) just passed its Bluetooth 3.0 certification. HTC’s answer to the iPhone 5 is rumored to come equipped with 4.3-inch 1280×720 resolution HD display, one of Qualcomm’s brand spankin’ new 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragons, 8MP camera, Sense 3.5, Beats audio and running Android 2.3.4. The device is rumored to hit Verizon on October 5th and with this new development, looks like we’re one step closer. (Oh – and the picture is unrelated)

Thanks, Justin (DroidAV8R)!

[Update]: The HTC Vigor has also received its WiFi certification.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  5. Well I can tell you October 5th isn’t gonna happen. It’s a Wednesday…October 6th maybe.

  6. Sorry to be the wet blanket but how much extra will this phone cost? Verizon already sells on contract phones for $300. Geez, adding in Beats technology might make Verizon have an industry first, sorry Sprint, $499 on contract phone???

    1. Whatever is at $300 by the time this phone is released will drop to $250 and the Vigor will take its place. =p

      1. When this is released, Moto will be offering the Bionic as a BOGO: Buy one for $0.01 on contract and get one free.

      2. trust me if this phone drops after the iphone 5, which history tells us will come in at 199.99, the competition will come down to compete for sure

  7. By far the phone im most excited about. Please verizon, dont drop the ball on this one. PLEASE

  8. I wish to god they’d give you the option to buy these phones without Sense.

As a UI designer, there are some questionable decisions made by HTC”s design department.

    1. I thought HTC has the “connected to computer” thing now that gives you access to the bootloader. Can’t Sense be removed from there (I do not know) or a custom ROM can be installed?

  9. So .. battery life is what?

Nice specs and all but if i can’t get a good run at the features without watching the % tick down minute over minute then it’s failing as a portable device.

  10. Pic unrelated? Pic VERY related.

    1. How so? He was Vigo… not Vigor.

      1. ಠ_ಠ

  11. This shall be my new phone… I hope this hits it’s date…

  12. To be followed up by the HTC Gatekeeper, and the HTC Keymaster.
