Rogers Bringing EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D Exclusives to Canada

7

Canadian Rogers fans out there have something to cheer about if they were excited about either of these devices. They’ve confirmed through their blog that both the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D will be available this summer and are set to take preorders sometime soon. Two great 3D devices and they’ve both exclusive, so there’s good reason to give Rogers a real consideration if you’re shopping for both devices and a carrier.

What’s more is that preordering the device also doubles as a contest entry. Check out these quick details from Rogers:

Starting next week, new customers can pre-order either of these devices through an upcoming microsite and you’ll then be automatically entered into a contest. If you pre-order the LG Optimus 3D, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a 55”LG Cinema 3D HDTV. If you pre-order the HTC EVO 3D, you’ll be entered to win a $2,500 MasterCard gift card. Contest closes August 15th.

Existing Rogers customers can exclusively reserve either of these devices through the Rogers Reservation System, until July 23rd. Be amongst the first to experience a 3D smartphone in Canada, by securing a place “in line” for a device without having to visit a store or call in.

Contest Details

Each closes August 15, 2011. Open to residents of Canada having reached to the age of majority. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries in each Contest.  Correct answer to mathematical skill-testing question required. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Full contest rules and details for the HTC Evo 3D preorder contest can be found here and full contest rules and details for the LG Optimus 3D preorder contest can be found here.

As said above, existing Rogers customers can preorder both devices exclusively until July 23rd, after which new customers can get in on it. Can’t beat shooting both these birds with one stone. Check out their blog post for more. [Cheers, Luke!]

  1. OOOO!!!! FINALLY Rogers get some dual core love! I was getting jealous of Bell owners that can get the Sensation and SGSII!!! lol

  2. rogers has always had tons of LG phones and they’ve always been horrible. I highly doubt the optimus 3d will be any different. The EVO 3D looks kind of good but I’d still rather have the sensation or the SGS2. Still, it makes them looks less pathetic when compared to bell. Now telus really looks like a joke.

  3. They should truly enjoy the HTC EVO 3D. This device is great in so many ways.

  4. Who needs 3D when it failed wide adoption? I’m waiting for SE Ray.

  5. Why are they getting both? They should have just picked up the Optimus instead of the under performing 3VO.

  6. 3D – what a waste of time – a gimmick for a phone feature. Rogers get some real HTC phones please.

    1. The 3D feature is pretty weak, but the Evo 3D is a 1GB dual-core MSM8660 with an Adreno 220 GPU…even ignoring the 3D gimmick, that is a pretty potent device. In some reports it has yielded poor battery life but that is almost certainly a software issue, given its huge battery and very good battery life on similarly equipped handsets.
