Acer Iconia Tab A500 Gets Android 3.1 Update Leaked

2

Oh, China – we love you guys. You leak and leak and leak, and we eat it up as if it’s the nectar of gods. The latest comes for the Acer Iconia Tab A500, the company’s 10.1 inch Honeycomb tablet. We’d heard this update would be coming as early as July 5th for folks in Germany, but here we are with desirables over a week early.

It’s Android 3.1 and adds the many features that we’ve gone over before, including resizable widgets and USB host supoort. It comes in the form of  a flashable .zip file that shouldn’t really give anyone trouble. It’s multilingual and should work no matter which region you bought the device in.

With all of that said, you’ll want to head over to XDA to get the goods, but make sure to read through the thread yourself. (And as always, any weapons of mass destruction, zombifying viruses, or killer papercuts caused by the procedure is your own responsibility.) [Engadget]

  1. Er what??  I was in Comet (a UK electrical retailers) yesterday and was looking at one with 3.1 on so I am not sure what you mean by leaked.

  2. People seem to be having issues, so not so sure it is official as some suggest.  The screen-on issues still are apparently there, so hope to see some info that refutes.
