Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Now Available for Pre-Order

17

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now available for pre-order in the US (soon to be available for purchase in at least one retail location), and the manufacturer is busy alerting the those interested. Sammy has been notifying customers via email and directing them to a order page to “be one of the first” to own the hot new Honeycomb slate. The pre-order is available from Best Buy with pricing of $499.99 for the 16GB variant and $599.99 for the 32GB variant, bringing the dual-core tablet in at a competitive price point that should see quite a few units move off the shelves. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available to all later this month.

[Thanks, Matt!]

  1. That’s a pretty good pricing point. I wish the UK would have equivalent pricing based on the currency exchange rate. More likely, they’ll just swap the currency symbols as they do with so many other electronic devices.

    1. Awesome!!  Preordered.  BTW, there is s preorder open on Amazon now too. If you want to support a fellow Phandroid, if you click on my link here they I get a whopping 1% of the sale.

      1. No tax or shipping charge from Amazon either, folks :).

  2. LOL, according to Best Buy’s product page the 10.1 now has a “USB 2.0 port for easy connection to your computer.”

    1. Looking at the specifications it says “Yes, with optional accessory”. It also says this for HDMI out.

      1. Funny, I went through BBs spec section and don’t see this. Or even a comment about HDMI at all :/ It is just bad editing on the page as far as I concerned anyway.

    2. Maybe it comes with a dongle that converts one of the ports into a USB 2.0 port?  Obviously it’s not large enough to accommodate a real port.

  3. So if it ships with 3.1, hopefully that means that update will be pushed to our Google I/O tablets in the very near future…

  4. Vodafone UK web page is now up.

    And it said 1.2ghz processor!

    No Tegra in UK!

  5. Yuck, just asked Best Buy if i’ll receive it the day of release, and no, it ships the day of release. express shipping is 29 bucks and it’s 1 day processing 1 day transit. So Tuesday.

    gonna wait for someone else.

  6. boo, the preorder ships on the 17th and express is 29 bucks with 1 business day processing 1 business day transit.

  7. can you make voice calls on it

  8. Isn’t the LTE version supposed to be available for pre-order today, as well?

  9. From the thubnails on BestBuy’s page, the WHITE model has stock Honeycomb, while the BLACK one seems to have TouchWiz.  Is this official, or is it just a bad photoshop?

  10. What about the 8.9?

  11. Get the Asus Transformer, it has a Micro SD Slot and HDMI out, and it’s 100 bucks cheaper.  This is just an iPhone in Android clothing, what I mean is no expandable memory.
