HTC Evo 3D Passes Through the FCC and Bares All

15

Right on time for that recently leaked June 24th launch date, HTC’s Evo 3D has gained FCC certification today. What’s particularly interesting is the fact that the FCC documents are showing off complete schematics for the device.

While there’s not too much here we didn’t already know, the spec I found most interesting was the inclusion of a three-axis gyroscope found in devices like the Blackberry Playbook and iPhone 4 (thanks Earlymon!). This will definitely help in the gaming department. Just gets better and better!

And now we play the waiting game as we wait for the official release date from Sprint.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

    1. aka. Samsung Within… Available on Sprint late July.  :)

      1. Where have you heard this? Someone told me that it was pushed back to 3rd quarter. I am jonesing for the GS2 myself but may opt for the Motorola Photon 4G if I don’t hear something soon.

The Photon 4G is essentially the Atrix for Sprint.

        1. I believe the Photon is the Droid X2 for Sprint

  3. Gyroscope? That’s interesting. I don’t remember the Sensation having one?

  4. what’s the point of a gyroscope when theres no games for it. The Galaxy S has had it since last summer and my Nexus S too.

    1. hater

    2. for detecting gestures with the phone maybe? could be like what lets you silence the ringer on the galaxy by turning it face down..

      1. The Evo already has the face down to silence feature and the gyro is old news.

    3. These devices can do things besides play games.

  5. Cant wait.

  6. “Htc with there htc.com services that will have content like movies games and downloadable items the android market with it’s movies and games as well as anything sprint might want to leave as an option for the device only adds so much more to this launch.” Wow. Try proofreading your comment BEFORE you post. Not only is this a poorly written run-on sentence, you needlessly repeated “movies and games”. Not to mention “there htc.com” should be “THEIR  htc.com”. If you want to be taken even remotely seriously, spell correctly and don’t make predictions you can’t hope to stay true. *cough E3D release date of June 4th cough cough*
