The folks at IM+ have just pinged us to let us know that version 4.0 of their application is now available. They’re calling it a major upgrade, and judging from this changelog alone I wouldn’t be inclined to disagree. Here’s the full list of changes:
- Completely new user interface with new features
- Various screen DPIs support for equal precise app look on all devices
- Push messages support for longer battery life
- Custom statuses and message templates
- Skype topics
- LED notification and customizable sounds for incoming messages
- Chinese and South Korean localizations
- Major bugfixes and performance improvements
All that sounds pretty major to me. You can get a free ad-supported version of IM+ or pay for an ad-less version for $4.95 in the Android market.
I messaged IM+ support concerning the inability to use the camcorder when IM+ was running on my Atrix over two weeks ago. I have not received a reply from them and I’m sorely disappointed as they’ve been responsive in the past. Due to such a big issue with the app, I had to uninstall it. I will try the app again to see if they did fix this issue. I hope this new version will bring their rating up as it was a good messaging app.
