Things We Missed, You Shouldn’t [Jan. 27]

Another day, another set of Android headlines you don’t want to miss. Just because we didn’t get around to them the first time doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bang it below for everything ATM apps to Honeycomb easter eggs.

• HSN and Sprint have come out with a Home Shopping Network-themed Sprint ID pack for phones that use the service, including the LG Optimus S, Kyocera Zio, and Samsung Transform.
• Skype-competitor Viber is in the finishing stages of development for Android. The app that currently enjoys popularity on iOS should be available in March.
• The Samsung Galaxy Tab has reached 2 million units sold, two months after surpassing the 1 million mark.
• Samsung’s opened up a new developer portal for those of you interested in creating applications for their “Smart” devices (Televisions, Tablets, Phones, Appliances, etc.) Check out the tools and resources available to you at their brand new portal.
• Android Police dug up some pretty cool 3.0 easter eggs. From functions named wtf() to isUserAMonkey(), there should be no question regarding whether or not the Android team has a sense of humor. And we got a name for that buzzing fellow uncovered yesterday – Rez.
• Ever heard of a Boonbag? Me neither, but these folks out of Germany have made a “dock” for tablets that essentially enables you to prop your device up how you want to. I actually wouldn’t mind one of these in the bed at night when my arms are too tired to hold up the Motorola XOOM I’ll eventually own.
• If you’re an ATM repair technician – or at least know one – then there’s a new app that might be helpful for you. But if you’re an ATM repair tech, shouldn’t you know all this stuff by heart? Eh, check it out here if you want.
