While the specific date can be pinned down, we can say with a pretty high degree of certainty that the HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon’s first 4G LTE smartphone, will be launching during the second half of February. Adding even more fuel to that fire is a recent leak pinning February 19th as the date that Thunderbolt accessories will arrive in stock at Best Buy.
Typically the arrival of accessories such as cases and screen protectors precedes the arrival of handsets by a few day, but call it another rumor for now.

Seriously… how it that the LG Optimus 2X was first announced and now its seemly last released? There better some gingerbread to accompany it if I have to wait til March on TMo
I still think it will be out before the 19th. Who knows, we were told this wouldn’t come out until late March so Verizon get off your arse.
So my question is, will this be available in locations that won’t have 4G until 2013? Will I be able to buy one and use it on 3G exclusively?

According to training material, the ThunderBolt will be their first phone with Skype Video Chat. We know that the iphone has it. So, it could come out before iphone.
It amazes me that a carrier who proclaims itself as “Americas largest” would release such phones with sub par specs. Seriously, your unveiling the nations first LTE networks, and the phones you have on deck are unacceptable in my opinion. I’m sorry, but what I witness at the CES were phone’s on steroids with nothing under the hood ; all dick no balls. What happen, LG gave you 4G guys the droid everybody rejected? Only one droid with a duel core? Terrible, very dissatisfied!
Waiting to see VZW pricing… will there be a ‘4G luxury tax’ on a 4G phone in a 3G only area? Guess we’ll know soon.
just popped into a verizon store and spoke to a surprisingly informed woman who literally JUST came from thunderbolt training. when i expressed concern about paying a surcharge for 4g (especially in a currently non-4g locale) she told me that it would remain the same 30 buck unlimited package, just with the added goodness of 4g.
lancaster09 there is word on LG Optimus 2X coming to verizon. So where did you find your info???? LG already has a phone coming to verizon.
Hope those that have spoken to Vz employees are correct on their intel, and data price stays at 30. It would be challenge to justify paying much more monthly.

Incorrect that rep didn’t give you the full truth.
As of now there are no pricing plan for 4G phone service yet. Only usb modem. $50/5GB and $80/10GB per month.
Iphone 4 data plan as of now is assumed to be same as current 3G smartphone pricing as VZW haven’t announced any plan change.
