Skype’s long been promising video calling for their Android application, and while they haven’t delivered quite as fast as we’d like, things might be changing really soon. We’ve just gotten an invite to attend Skype’s CES press conference where they’ll be unleashing a series of video calling announcements. The invite didn’t specifically mention Android – or mobile, for that matter – but we can’t imagine they’ll want to continue the round of disappointments you guys have been faced with. Fingers crossed, and we’ll be there at CES to see what goes down!
Let the countdown to CES and Y2011 Superphones BEGIN!! This is gonna be gooooood.
Don’t care. Please add video chat to the Google Talk app so I can chat phone-to-browser.
Phone to web video calling, a function that developers seem to have overlooked for some reason. I certainly hope that they finally get off their collective arses, and produce something. Because otherwise I don’t see “Front Facing Cameras” staying around for the long haul. 90 percent of the phones out right now, lack this op, and a good way to get the op into the mainstream would be the phone to web, application of the device. Proving that there is an actual use to the “front-cam”.
Agreed. With Google talk geting video support being being substantiated more and more I say “too little too late”
Want phone to pc video chat, yahoo messenger app has a video chat plugin. Works flawless and when using my evo to talk to my sister across the us it is flawless. Quality is much better than any other video chat apps out currently.
I think they were reffering to skype for iphone 4. Now they have video calling. But, our OS could be the next, isnt it???
