Virgin Mobile in Canada is getting ready to launch the entry-level Samsung Galaxy 550, an Android 2.1-based smartphone for the budget-conscious consumer. The phone itself isn’t much to make noise over, but let’s take a look at the plan that’s only available if you buy this phone:
“This new plan is EXCLUSIVELY for the Samsung Galaxy 550, but it’s only available for a limited time!
The $40 “Android Social 40 – 300″ plan includes:
•Available for new and existing Members
•300 Anytime Minutes
•100MB of Data
•Unlimited local incoming
•Unlimited weekends and evenings starting at 7pm
•Choice of unlimited text & picture messaging OR Voicemail 10 & Call Display
•Included in the International Text Promo
•All this for just $40 per month!
*The Galaxy 550 is also available on the Android Social Plan for ALL Androids
*Grouping for this plan is Smartphone
Someone will have to tell me if this is a sweet deal in Canada because trends tend to differ from region to region, of course. Anywho, Virgin’s got something for those who need a cheap Christmas gift to their loved ones this holiday season and you should be able to grab this one for the stocking in just three days. The problem is – who can live with just 100mb of data?
^ This.
I would rather stick needles in my eyes than pay one penny to the rip of Telco data plans in Canada. Just give me the phone cheap and I’ll use the wifi thank you very little!
Canada really does have the worst data/internet plans out of any first world nation. Too much collusion between the companies, just pick what color you prefer on your bill, green, red or blue… its all the same pot.
i have the plan, have had phone for at least a week, dont like it very much, im going to trade it for something better. tried to like it but dont
