The Motorola Droid 2 has probably been the quietest of Verizon’s launches in terms of OTA upgrades out of the box, but they’ve finally released a minor one that brings about some decent changes and enhancements you’ll probably be looking for.
Improvements:
- Enabled text and picture message scrolling.
- Streamlined set up of Visual Voice Mail feature.
- Improved contact sync with Corporate Exchange categories
- and groups.
- View accurate contact pictures when reviewing Recent Call Log.
It’s a quick 3.7MB to download firmware version 2.2.20.en.US which some of you may have already gotten, but if you haven’t be sure to check for a software update in the settings menu of your phone. It’s no Froy– Oh wait, you guys already have Froyo. Carry on

Oooh!!!! I’m drooling. NNAAIICCEE.
Manish :)
“it’s no Froy- Oh wait, you guys already have Froyo. Carry on”
Words cannot describe ho much I lol’d at that.
I don’t know that I would call it minor, considering the fact that it resolved the issue of syncing contacts with Exchange. Previously, only about half of the contacts on my Exchange server would even make it to my device. This “minor” update resolved a BIG issue for business users.
Droid2 gets a Froyo UPDATE while DroidX can’t even get the OFFICIAL Froyo! sigh…
Has anyone else had problems with their Droid 2 resending old text messages or receiving hotmail messages more than once before this update?
This update killed my backlit keys.
I read that the droid 2 did not download websites as quick as the droid x. Is that true?
