Word is that Europe could be seeing an EVO-like device that so far has been known as the HTC Ace, but new rumors are suggesting the Ace could end up being the Desire HD, a phone that would take the hot as fire Desire brand and catapult it to a new level. Some rumored specs have surfaced about exactly how the Desire HD will be upgraded from the original, including a 4.3-inch screen, 8MP camera with 720p video recording, and 4GB of internal storage. The same 1GHz Snapdragon processor remains, but it would now be powering Android 2.2. Cosmetically the Desire HD would get an aluminum uni-body casing.
These specs are currently just word on paper rumors, but previous word from HTC big wigs suggests that a device much like the one described is almost a lock.

… and 1 minute battery life …
maybe some thought 4.3″ would be too big but it is a big seller. Not everyone wants to be stuck on a 3.5″ screen!
As long as it doesn’t have Super AMOLED and photo flash it’s nothing special
The HTC Desire have a 3.7 AMOLED SCREEN , not 3.5
I agree about the screen but I would have that that Qualcomm would have had faster processor in production by the time this.Is being manufactured. What about their 1.2 or 1.5 single core, or the dual core I was reading about?
@ari-free
Only apple thinks stamp-sized screens fit a smartphone these days. 3.7 is a minimum.
On the other end theres little thingys like the wildfire for everyone who just wants to get rid of those freakin SE, LG and whatsoever crap … err… featurephones.
THIS IS MY DREAM PHONE NOW. i just wish AT&T would do something and get this DAMN PHONE when ever it’s announce.
It sounds nice but I’d like a higher resolution at that size. It’s actually quite likely to do this as Apple has raised the bar.
Is it possible that the larger screen size would give them the space inside to put a substantially larger battery in? That’s something they really need to work on.
The first question in my mind when looking at a phone is always CDMA or GSM and if latter what are the 3G frequencies. But these are never the first to be revealed. As for the device above… :p
snapdragon: 4.3″ will make the iPhone look like some entry level smartphone.
Well if this phone turns out to be cool you better sign up for one now. Just like every other new phone this year they are now out of Droids apparently. All these new phones would be really great, if you could actually buy any of them..
Won’t this unit make the AMOLED shortage even worse?
4,3″? no thanks. i wan’t my phone to fit nicely in my pocket. aluminum uni-body casing sounds like seller for me, though.
only thing wrong with the original Desire, in my opinion, is it’s design. not particularly ugly, but definetly not so sleek either.
4.3 is a joke, no one ones a huge phone in the pocket. my samsung galaxy S is huge. it should be 3.7 maximum. more than that are for nut cases.
@ ze luis… thank-you for pointing that out! =/. All the other comments are some ” bigger obviously means better” mindset people. There’s a thing called personal preference . Sent from my 3.7inch milestone ;)
