Regardless of how this phone is received throughout our vocal Android community online, we have to remember that there’s still a good chunk of people that are looking for exactly what T-Mobile’s offering with the Garminfone. T-Mobile remembers that, too, and their advertising campaign for the phone doesn’t look too shabby.
While I’m sure we aren’t going to see them turn the wheel as hard as they will for their MyTouch 3G Slide, it’s no surprise that T-Mobile still wants this phone in many hands. The Garmin name is very powerful in the navigation world, and this phone helps tap into the crowd that would love to ditch their blocky turn-by-turn devices for a cellphone that can do all that and then some.
In reality, this commercial could apply to any Android-powered device. The HTC Evo comes to mind because of its massive screen. I’ve yet to be disappointed by Google Navigation.
@Mecha unlike Google Navigation this Phone has all North American map (can download more countries) data installed in the phone’s memory so it doesn’t constantly download data.
I saw a garminfone ad while watching the Travel Channel.
