The Samsung GT-i5800 and Samsung GT-i5801 aren’t the most exciting devices to come around in recent months, but it’ll find itself a home somewhere. That said, anyone hoping to see these phones launch soon should be happy to know that they’ve just passed the Global Certification Forum.

Both phones will support quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dualband UMTS/HSDPA compatible with 900/2100 Mhz voice and data bands. As we learned before, one or both of these phones will be getting WiFi b/g/n, as well as a similar tale for Bluetooth 3.0 (the i5800 confirmed the WiFi protocols via certification, while the i5801 confirmed the Bluetooth version).

We also learned from the i5801’s user agent profile that it’d house a relatively cramped screen resolution of 240×480. Still no concrete information on these devices yet, but we’ll continue to try and uncover more details as time goes on.
