Vodafone is stepping up their Android game with the introduction of three new phones to their lineup, the HTC Desire, HTC Legend, and Sony Ericsson X10, for what they are deeming Android April. You heard right, that’s three more reasons to consider Vodafone if you are a citizen of the UK who wants to get their hands on a new Android.
The Legend will be exclusive to Vodafone customers and will be available for the subsidized cost of free on a 2-year, £20 per month plan. While the HTC Desire is available from nearly every UK mobile phone carrier and retailer, it is still a great addition to Vodafone’s arsenal, and easily the best of the three Android April phones. Add in the new X10, which has been making it’s review and press rounds recently, and you have some pretty darn good choices if you are an existing or future Vodafone customer.
Still no Nexus One, so if you’re holding out for that one you’ll be waiting a bit longer, although the eerily similar Desire is no cheap substitute if you are willing to forego the Google brand.

The legend is pretty sweet.
Its a bit under powered.
I’m still waiting for the N1 on Vodafone as I don’t want a Desire. I even sent them another email a few days ago threatening to leave unless they they told me the release date. Their reply? “I am sorry to let you know I am unable to provide you with the release date of the Google Nexus phone”.
Unable? More like unwilling. Vodafone are really going out of their way to lose customers.
I’m not sure the Desire is “easily the best of the three”. The Sony has got the better camera (8.1MP)and I’ve seen the Timescape and Mediascape functions at a few events and they both look very impressive. If you go on looks alone then the x10 is not only the best of the three but arguably the best looking handset on the market right now – roll on upgrade!!
Vodafone customer service is absolutely terrible, anything Android related and you’ll always get the same reply. “We don’t know anything”
