Ochocinco And MOTOBLUR Continue To Inform Millions On The Motorola Devour

2

The marriage between NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and Motorola is a very unlikely one. Soon after the announcement of their Cliq (Get it? No? It was worth a shot.), we learned that the two would move forward in promoting MOTOBLUR – the custom Android UI that Motorola is using to set themselves apart and re-spur the livelihood of their phones division.

Two phones later and the couple are still at it. The latest endorsement sees Ochocinco carrying a Motorola Devour as the product to have. The fictional (yet still very real) Ochocinco News Network is now “powered” by MOTOBLUR full circle. His Android app keeps fans in the loop, he tweets from Motoblur to over one-million followers, and OCNN and Motorola now go hand-in-hand when it comes to brand awareness.

I won’t be surprised to see some more aggressive advertising headed our way in the future. In the meantime, if we could just get our hands on a more full-fledged OCNN app (with pictures and videos) like our iPhone rivals brethren, that’d be great.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I would be more receptive to this article if there weren’t a large-scale outage of the Motoblur service. On the Motorola Owners’ Forums, tons of people are complaining that their news widgets and happenings are not updating. It’s been three days since any FB or Twitter posts have shown up on my phone.

  2. Amen to the last comment. I got a Motorola Cliq and the motoblur service has been down more than its been up. Yet I continually see advertisements touting how wonderful it is and encouraging new users to sign up.

My advice is DON’T! They can’t handle the users they got. I’m tired of these Corporations charging huge amounts for their phones and services and then delivering crap. They know with a glitzy advertising campaign, they’ll get millions of suckers to line up at their trough. Problem is, we keep lining up like a bunch of dumb cattle only to realize that one again the trough doesn’t have any water in it. They make millions while we die of thirst.
