Samsung pulls One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S22 devices

0

Samsung recently released the One UI 6.1 update for its Galaxy S22 phones. This would introduce Galaxy AI to the older handset. Previously, Galaxy AI was only available on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 models, but the One UI update brought the suite of AI tools to the Galaxy S22 series.

Unfortunately, it seems that there could be an issue with the update. According to various user reports on Samsung’s Community forums in Korea, it looks like the update is causing problems for users. Users are reporting that upon updating their phones, their handsets are either failing to boot up or unlock.

Interestingly enough, it seems that these issues only affect the Galaxy S22 devices. In addition to the Galaxy S22, the One UI 6.1 update was also made available for other Samsung flagships. This includes the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4. Users with those devices have not run into problems yet, or if there are, we haven’t come across these reports.

Not all users are affected and Samsung hasn’t officially commented on it yet, but apparently the update might have been halted as a result. Either way, we’ll keep our eyes out for additional details when they become available.
