ZTE Blade V8 Pro update fixes incompatibility with music apps running in the background

0

It was the only thing holding the ZTE Blade V8 Pro from greatness and with a new software update rolling out to the phone today — build Z978V1.0.0B19 — we can now confidently say the Blade V8 Pro is hands-down the best affordable Android device you can buy under $250.

The update, which weighs in at a teensy 102.09MB fixes a bug in the Blade V8 Pro where the phone would prematurely force close music apps playing in the background after 15 minutes. While not every music app was affected by this, the big ones were (Spotify, Pandora, the stock music player), making longer music listening on the road, plane ride, or while exercising a challenge to say the least.

The update doesn’t just fix the music app bug, with ZTE noting other small changes like a fixed time sync issue in the widget, optimized UI and language, Google’s latest security patches from January, as well as other miscellaneous performance improvements and bug fixes.

We’ve known the update was coming for a few weeks now and its nice to see ZTE USA making good on their word. If there was ever any doubt on picking up the Blade V8 Pro either for yourself or a loved one, it’s officially been squashed with this update.
