Prisma makes its official debut on Google Play

0

Sick of the usual Instagram filters? Android users can now download Prisma from Google Play and use the app’s machine learning algorithms to turn a regular photo into a true work of art. Rather than applying a filter which changes the color, saturation, exposure and contrast of a photo, Prisma uses proprietary algorithms on its servicers to analyze your photos and gives you the option to apply nearly 40 different art styles. The end result can be quite stunning, creating an image that’s completely different than the original photo that was captured.

Since the artistic photo styles are applied using Prisma’s servers, it can take 5 to 30 seconds for the preview to show up; so be patient. Prisma has only been available on the Play Store for a few hours, but it’s already amassed 29,000 reviews with an average rating of 4.5.

Once you give Prisma a try, leave us a comment (or two) below with your artistic creations.

[Update]: Well, that was quick. The app just got its first update, and it adds a save function that allows you to save your edited photos to your phone instead of only being able to share them to some other app.
