Phones are getting to be ridiculously big, so why not tablets? That’s exactly what Samsung has done with the new Galaxy View tablet. Coming in at 18.4-inches, it’s the largest display to ever run Android. After weeks of rumors and leaked images, this mammoth device is finally official.

As we mentioned above, the display is 18.4-inches, but the resolution is only 1920×1080. That’s a perfectly fine resolution for a device that is essentially a portable TV screen. Samsung intends for this device to be used for consuming streaming media. Other specs include a 2.1MP front camera, 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 5,700mAh battery, and 32/64GB of storage. You can also pop in a nano-SIM for LTE connectivity. Samsung did not announce pricing or availability.

Oh, and Samsung thankfully did not put a camera on the back. Let’s hope no one attempts to take this massive tablet into public.

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.
