Anyone can do contactless NFC-based mobile payments (with the exception of the OnePlus 2), but after offering compatibility with traditional magstripe terminals, Samsung Pay was gearing up to be one of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge’s must-have killer features.

We know about Samsung’s plans to bring their contactless mobile payments to both the US and South Korea “this summer” (it’s already begun testing in Korea), but Europe was sort of up in the air. It seems Samsung Pay could be arriving in Europe sooner rather than later with Samsung announcing today that they’ve officially teamed up with MasterCard to also bring the service across the pond.

They’re still not committing to any sort of launch timing, but we imagine it won’t be long after it officially rolls out in the US and Korea where it is said to coincide with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in September. We’ll let you know if we hear more.
