Want to get your HBO fix on the go? The company behind some of television’s greatest series has finally made their catalog of shows available for purchase and viewing in the Google Play Store. To start, you can purchase episodes of True Blood, The Newsroom, and Game of Thrones as officially told by Google.

And while they didn’t mention these shows, there are also episodes of The Wire, Girls, Veep and Boardwalk Empire sitting in the Google Play Store. Now all they’ll need to add is The Sopranos and they will have taken care of most of my Home Box Office entertainment needs.

Episodes range from $1.99 and $2.99 each, with full seasons made available for anywhere between $18.99 and $28.99. Get over to the Google Play Store and check them out if you’re interested in grabbing these for your Android phone or tablet.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I’ve dropped satellite and won’t do cable, so this is music to my ears – and with Chromecast, this is going to go well for me.

Now get me the new versions of Doctor Who on the Play Store and I’m happy.

    1. I believe all the new DW seasons and specials are there.

  2. Or for the cost of half of 1 season, 9 bucks a month and get netflix and watch all of them with the netflix app.

    1. UPDATE – for the cost of 1/3rd of 1 season of 1 show, get all seasons of all shows.

      1. Except they’re not on Netflix streaming at all.

  3. Woot! Already bought GoT and True Blood. This means I can cancel HBO. YES! And admittedly, I have a very, very bad habit/addiction to Google Play books and movies/TV, I’ve spent at least $2000 since they became a full digital store.

Hopefully soon HBO and Showtime will add their old shows as well, like Rome, Carnivale and Dead Like Me.

  4. Bah!! I hate the winter. =.=

I guess I should start buying my jackets now.

  5. but will the next seasons become available as soon as they are made available on HBO GO?
