  1. im always so disappointed to see titles like this. gutta click on it and realize that its app developers that are being appreciated this month…

      1. people who work towards making individual phones better with roms/kernels/recoveries

        1. for the most part, they’re not “devs” – they’re called ROM “chefs”, who mix and match other peoples’ dev work.

          1. touche but not everyone loads up a kitchen and comes out with a theme

        2. ROM developers, Kernel developers, recovery developers should have the resources and knowledge to participate in such a contest like this just like any app dev or game dev. I could even see an advantage of having more hacks and tricks up their sleeve to make something more unique. I say… give it a try! ;)

          1. i guess its all relative, kernels and recoveries are in C, apps are in java.

          2. compile using the ndk…also what about some sweet renderscript???

          3. thats entirely possible. i just figured an android community would incorporate the whole jist of it all not just the fart apps ;)

    1. Developers don’t get ENOUGH love… we think after a few years posting news, they more than deserve a month of awesome content geared a bit towards them. Not to mention, we’ve still got a bunch of consumer contests coming.

I mean… if developers didn’t exist, then Android would suck, and you wouldn’t be on this website in the first place!

Hang in there. Plenty of contests for you coming soon.

      1. oh i fully agree, just figured since it was developer appreciation month not every awesome contest would be geared towards APP developers.. possibly some that make roms? or do things for recoveries etc etc

    2. Also… we say “Dev Contest” in the title just for that reason.

    3. I for one +1 to this. Not all ROM developers know how to develop an app. Myself being one of them.. lol. I have absolutely no artistic value nor do I know anything about games/live wallpapers. Could probably use one if it were open source.. but other than that I’m SOL.

Now if there was a kind of “Build as many ROMs as you can in the next 2 days”, I would like that contest… lol.

  2. This looks right up my alley! I already got a quick and dirty game framework that I can incorporate images in :p. I think it would be a great way to make a demo of my game too :D. With links and crap going to Phandroid too.
    Yep. This will be good.

  3. Any dev that can make a live wallpaper that works smoothly on ICS (at least the Galaxy Nexus) deserves a minimum of 20K in prizes….

    1. Sad but true. Try an alternate launcher…. suddenly things are smooth again :)

  4. Are there any geographic limitations to this contest? I live in the UK, can I participate?

  5. Awesome, the perfect motivation to finish my app! :D

  6. I’m new to live wallpapers and I probably won’t finish by the dead line but I’ll still create a Phandroid live wallpaper just because I love this site so much.

  7. Can a developer submit multiple entries OR its only 1 entry per participant ?

  8. If I don`t have an Andrioid developer account, I mean on Android Play, how could I submit an app for this contest?

  9. This is Miss Ong from Malaysia, represent M-Village. We would like to recruit freelancer to make live wallpaper for android apps, kindly contact me at [email protected] for interested developers. Thank you!

  10. no updates regarding this contest?

  11. No update regarding this contest yet? I submitted my entry but received no reply. Here’s a video of my entry – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_BKCM847TY&feature=plcp

  12. When do you expect to release the result?

    1. yea i have to same question for them, did u submit anything?
