HTC Trademark Filings Reveal Potential New Handset Names

Velo, Cheetah, Skyrocket, Titan, and Raider. No, that isn’t the lineup of some new super hero alliance, it’s the most recent batch of trademark filings from HTC. The names have been registered in Europe and give us an idea of what we could potentially be calling some of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s future devices. Of coure, a trademark filing isn’t always an indication that a name will be used. HTC could merely be reserving the names for their potential. We could see all, one, none, or any combination of the five come to market as smartphones or tablets. It is also possible HTC could sit on the names for as long as their trademarks allow. I’m liking the sound of HTC Raider, personally. How about you?

  3. HTC Raider, hmm, name sounds familiar. HTC Titan is probably the LTE tablet, HTC Skyrocket – ThunderBolt sequel? HTC Cheetah sounds like something T-mobile would get, HTC Velo, either at&t or verizon. Its also possible these names are ONLY for Europe too. Its possible these are the 2012 handsets. 2011 had – “ChaCha, Salsa, Incredible S, Desire S, Wildfire S, Flyer” so right now these new names sound like fast devices, all possibly dual core. lets hope they don’t recycle the 2011 designs… i didn’t care for them this time around, the rounded top with the ugly earpiece looks so tacky. the only design that actually looked good in my opinion was the Wildfire S even though it was small.

  8. Always hated this stupid name calling. Where are good old S641, X10, F1324, 386, 486 etc.? And why no one still outed a phone called Boner?
