Acer Liquid E Launch Draws Near On Rogers

8

Great news for you Rogers customers out there: the long-awaited Acer Liquid E looks to finally be on its way. The phone is a distant cousin of the Acer A1, except it comes packed with a 768mhz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch WVGA screen, a 5-megapixel camera, and – perhaps most importantly – Android 2.1.

The fact that Rogers’ set-up instructions for Facebook on their Social View service on the Liquid E has shown up recently makes us confident that the phone might be available very soon. The last we pegged its release date at was Spring 2010, so this is right in tune. We’ll ping you guys when we hear anything about contract terms, pricing, and its availability.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. It must appear very soon. Yesterday I received newest issue of Roger’s magazine – two biggest articles in there are about X10 and Liquid (Liquid Gold was the title of the article). Here’s a shorter version of that article http://urmagazine.ca/tech/Tech_feature_acer_liquid.htm

Everything in that list apart from Android 2.1 is EXACTLY the same as the Acer A1. Nothing distant about it.

  3. @GK I didn’t mean distant in an actual sense. That was just figurative blabbering.

  4. Just can’t wait! Because when it’s available in store we, Liquid A1 users will finally get 2.1! Can’t wait! Can’t wait! Ooooh!!!!111

  5. well now thats some liquid e goodness. This is what i’ve been waiting for. 2.1 in a shell of liquid gold.I can live with that till the N2 arrives.

  6. Hopefully the S100 prices will go down since it’s an “older” model.

I’ve been looking at every single Android phone I can find, and this/S100 looks to be it.

  7. Phandroid.com and Engadget are guessing too much when new models are comming, but then sometimes forget to mention when they came out. So I don’t know if the Galaxy or the Xperia X10 are available. Should we make an overview ?

  8. As I’ve understood it, Liquid E is the same hardware as Liquid S100, so I wouldnt exactly call it “distant cousin”. More like, slightly sexier twin.
It might also be clocked at 900MHz according to rumors.
