Many people use these tricks to cheat on their significant other without being detected – something we DO NOT condone – so it’s only fair to equip the loyal but suspicious couples with tools of their own.
If you’re on this page we hope you have considerable reason to suspect your partner is cheating. Breaking into someone’s phone and snooping through their personal information is a major act of betrayal (and in some places it can be a criminal offense). This guide should only be used as a last resort. With that in mind, let’s proceed.

Find hidden apps
If you suspect your partner is using an app they shouldn’t be, and they’ve hidden it on their phone, there are a few ways to find it. One of the easiest ways to hide an app is to hide it from the app drawer. You won’t see it on your partners phone by scrolling through the list of apps. If you know the name of the app (like Tinder), it should be easy to find. Here’s a list of popular dating apps to look for.
- Open the Google app on their phone
- Start typing the name of the app you’re looking for
- If it’s on the phone, you should see it in the results
- Tap it to launch the app
Another way to find hidden apps is in the app manager. You won’t need to know the name of the app for this method, but it will take more time.
- Go to Settings > Apps
- You should see a list of all the apps installed on the phone
- You can’t open an app from this screen, but now you know the name of it
- Use the first method to launch the app from Google
Find hidden photos & text messages
If your partner is hiding sensitive photos and text messages, there’s a good chance they are using a special app to do so. The first place you should look is the default SMS app. If you don’t find anything there, but you’re still suspicious, the methods listed above for finding hidden apps will still work.
The key is not necessarily finding incriminating photos and text messages. Every built-in tool or app is going to have a password or PIN protecting the contents. Unless you already know their favorite passwords, you’re probably not going to get in. But that’s okay. If you can prove your partner is using apps for the purpose of hiding these things, that should be enough evidence to confront them.
Stealthily enable Google location tracker
Another way to catch a cheater is by tracking their whereabouts. You’ll know if they go somewhere different than what they told you. Smartphones make this incredibly easy to do. If you can get past your partners lock screen, you can track them with an app they probably already have installed.
The Google+ app is installed on most Android phones. In the settings, you can turn on “Location sharing” and allow people to see where you are on a map. You can enable this on your partners phone without them ever knowing. The only thing you’ll need is a Google+ account of your own.
- Open Google+ on your partners phone
- Swipe in from the left and select Settings
- Select your partners account
- Go to Location sharing
- Toggle the switch on
- Select CHOOSE PEOPLE TO SHARE WITH
- Choose yourself from the list
Now, to see where they are on a map.
- Open Google+ on your device
- Swipe in from the left and select Locations
- You should see their avatar on the map
- Tap them to see when their location was last updated
Prevent an affair with Couple Tracker
Here’s a tip to prevent an affair. A free app called Couple Tracker is designed to make everything you do on your phone available to the other person. It’s a two-way street. You can see what they do, they can see what you do. This can be a great way to level the playing field. Your partner won’t feel like the only one under a microscope. Here’s what you get.

Catch a cheater with these 3rd-party apps
Family Locator (Free)
This is a great app to use if you have a family. The app will show all of your family members on a map and allow you to talk to them all at once. It’s handy for catching a cheater because you can use the “family” aspect to convince your partner to use it. Hopefully, if you do have a family, this app will be able to clear any suspicions you have. [Download]
Nest Cam (Free)
Do you suspect that your partner is cheating in your own home? The Nest app works with the Nest Cam, a small camera for home security. It’s easy to hide the Next Cam so your partner won’t find it. You can monitor the feed from anywhere with your phone, and even get alerts when movement is detected. Buying home security products is another major act of betrayal. Use as the last resort. Track Any Phone (Free)
Another alternative to Google+ is Track Any Phone. This app allows you to track anyone on a map in real-time. It locates people with GPS, WiFi, and cellular signal to get a very accurate location. You can even see how long a person has been at each location. The only problem with this app is you’ll most likely have to install it without your partners knowledge. [Download]
WhatsEye (Free)
WhatsEye is an app that allows you to spy on your partners WhatsApp activity. The app monitors when your contacts are online and records the data in a list. You can see when your partner was using WhatsApp when they were supposed to be doing something else. WhatsEye can even push notifications so you can instantly see when your partner is online.
