QWERTY lovers rejoice! It looks like T-Mobile will be throwing you guys a bone with this newly leaked Samsung QWERTY slider. Codenamed the SGH-T699, it was once believed this device would be anything from the T-Mobile branded Galaxy Nexus, to the Galaxy S3 back when it showed up in a User Agent Profile. As it turns out, this is looking like a mid-level slider with a beautiful spacious 5-row (staggered) keyboard, 5MP rear shooter, front facing camera and comes out of the box running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The previous leak suggested this would have a 720p HD display, powered by an older ARM11 based processor, but we’ll have to wait and see if that sticks. TMoNews is being told the device runs buttery smoove, and without any noticeable slowdown. Definitely looks promising. But what do you guys think? Anyone out there still have a soft spot for QWERTY sliders?
Let’s cross our fingers someone other than Motorola will give us a high-end QWERTY Android device. Maybe an upcoming Nexus device?

I guess hi-end keyboard smartphones are a thing of the past, and my friend who has the S2 is crying for one. Keyboard phones are equivalent to flip phones, it aint cool no more.
Yeah, I think the last one was… the Mytouch Slide 4G, right? That thing had a dual-core at least.
Nah the Captivate Glide came out after that, and then the Droid4.
Kinda sad the Captivate glide got just about no press whatsoever.
Yeah my coworker had the Glide and she likes it. It was the only decent spec’d slider from AT&T that I could recommend since she wanted a qwerty. It definitely deserves more support but unfortunately it’s a Samsung and we all know how forgetful they are..
yea that was the last hi-end keyboard phone HTC and t-mobile put out. I remember cause it apparently had the “best camera” HTC said it themselves they are not going to make keyboard phones and getting out of the low-end android phone market.

@sn0wball… i know, this is NOT Galaxy S3.. i m just saying HOPEFULLY!!!! smh if this is Galaxy Nexus, then this is fine.. it’s faster and bigger than mine HTC G2… :) i hopefully, it’s come with snapdragon S4…
I thought the G2 was the best keyboard phone made. There is a video on XDA Developers that shows the repair for the loose spring. I did that repair and let me say that is the best action from any keyboard phone. They sent that phone to customers with a weak spring. Too bad because that one weak spring cost that phone tons of sales. If the customers received their phones with the new spring that I installed in my phone it would have been received as a flawless phone.
5-row is the only way to go!
