If the import ban on the HTC One X and the Evo 4G LTE wasn’t already a bitter pill to swallow for HTC, it looks like they’re in a bit more trouble than earlier anticipated. TmoNews were tipped off earlier today that customers who were looking to purchase a new Amaze 4G were being told that the device is unable due to “unforeseen issues”, and the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G was being offered as an alternative.
While there’s no arguing that the patent issue itself is the main problem, and that Apple has taken advantage of that, HTC must still take some blame for the ban. They knew months ago of the ruling, and they said they would remove the infringing features. It seems like they were trying to push their luck. Surely they didn’t just… forget?
And my hate for Apple grows. Instead of healthy competition, they’re just playing dirty and suing people left and right. Yeah, great capitalists, if you ask me (sarcasm intended)
Apple has been trying the same thing with samsung.
I think saying HTC was pushing it may be a little exaggerated.. HTC is saying they have removed the infringing issues. Why would we take them at their word. The problem here may be that government moves at the speed of snail. Who knows what has to happen to make this happen. Does anyone think that a customs agent is checking handsets for patent violations or could it be that customs has to have someone else verify that and give the ok? Let’s not throw HTC under the bus here. The better question that none of you guys have asked is why is the HTC ONE S allowed to enter the country running the same Sense 4.0? If it was running the same software why wouldn’t HTC think they were in the clear? Why was the ONE X allowed initially and not atopped
You hit the nail right on the head! I’ve read a number of articles from this author and he seems to take a lot of liberties with “facts” in his writing.
But the funnies is Sprint now is offering the iPhone 4S with a $100 trade-in credit…
The only winner here look like Apple… it´s sucks…
There are no words to describe how despicable this is. There’s nothing we can really do about it except sit back, watch, & never buy an Apple product. The patent system is so broken…
I do have my HTC ONE X, so they can fight the way they want to.
Its your world were just living in it right????
My next Phone, it`ll be simple phone, as the way it`s going.
I’m guessing that they did remove it, but the devices are being double super extra checked to make sure there’s nothing infringing left.
Ironically I know a lot of pros in the vfx world leaving Apple behind due to their lack of innovation and are more consistently worried about patent trolling the competition. No Mac Pro updates, FCPX is a joke, Shake was killed, MBPs are overpriced while Airs are underpowered. Then the iphone is an aging phone with an old case and a sagging OS.
This is sad
does anyone recommend the galaxy nexus? I need a sprint phone before 6/1
i assume that the new evo should be out before then but the galaxy nexus is pretty good
That seems to be your only option as it seems all devices from HTC will be delayed. Can’t you wait? If you did that would be best
Apple want to shove down your throat their shitty operating system. The only innovation is the billions upon billions they make off the logo. Android has nothing in common with ios except they are both touchscreen. My gawd, only an idiot would see any similarities. Android is awesome. There’s my patent ruling. Stamp it and mail it to tim cook lol
if HTC are having troubles getting their mobile in the US, then Sammy beware, as Apple now know what they have to do to prevent sg111 from entering the US market, i think this shows how narrow minded these people are. i think we all should boycott apple products and show support for the smaller guys, let face it that HTC one X and sammy are light years ahead of anything apple has, and Aplle feels they cannot complete so they play dirty. i have dropped my apple 4s in a tub of water and will support HTCone X. here’s to the little people.

“It seems like they were trying to push their luck. Surely they didn’t just… forget?”
Ace job of sensationalism without foundation of fact. Nice. Really, really nice.
Um… They did rework the software and have said from the beginning that they believed they were in compliance with the ruling. That is the reason they are now being released and not sent back. This delay was caused more by US Customs and waiting to the last minute to verify that this was done. HTC had the phones in the country over a month ago but customs did not begin to investigate or hold the phones until 2 or 3 days before launch. I think Apple paid off someone – my personal believe! Be afraid Apple – be very afraid!!!
