AT&T Will Carry the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

5

Surprise, surprise – another great device headed for AT&T. This time, they’ve quietly unveiled their version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Two colors – blue and black – will be available and both versions will have HSPA+ 21mbps radios inside. Also, contrary to their competitor’s offering, this one has Sony Ericsson’s custom user interface on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s a nice surprise from AT&T that should win over a good amount of new customers looking for unique devices not made by a company named Apple. No press release to be had, but the same was true for the Thrill 4G when AT&T announced that. Just know that it’s on its way. [Engadget]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Winning :)

I’ll ditch my VZ Xperia Play for At&t’s Xperia play

Sell a Droid Charge and Xperia Play and get about ehh 600 bucks minimum . I Say that is a good deal

  2. What is the deal with photoshopping the buttons all over the place in that image?

  3. “Great” is probably the last word I would assign to the Xperia Play. Ok, maybe it’s not such a bad device, but it was way too hyped and failed to live up that hype. I mean, a PlayStation phone is cool – if this thing was released five years ago that is. Or in other words, N-Gage 2.0

  4. wish I could of waited for the PSP phone instead of getting my Atrix

  5. im with carmen even that the att sony xperia play is in 4g and its blue i got so mad
