Today at a press event in New York City, Samsung and AT&T unveiled the only pieces of information missing from the Samsung Infuse 4G’s rap sheet, the pricing and launch date. If you are awed by the Infuse 4G’s 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and 1.2GHz CPU, you can get your hands on the new TouchWiz smartphone come May 15th for a measly $199.99 (on a two-year contract). As an added bonus, an exclusive version of Angry Birds comes packaged with the device.
We’ve seen this handset previously at both CES and MWC, and the size and clairty of the screen offers a pretty breathtaking experience. Of course, big, beautiful screens often translate to poor battery life, but we haven’t had enough time with the Infuse to know if this holds true on this device. Now if Sammy could just get around to bringing that Galaxy S II here in the States.

What kind of battery life will this thing get? With a screen that big, the battery better be pretty robust.

And seriously, 800×480 on a giant screen like the Infuse don’t sound good at all.
Android™ 2.2 ??? Surely not…
Samsung phones are garbage. They are ALL Plastic and they never update. I broke my Nexus 1 and then insurance gave me a Samsung Vibrant and it sucks!
To be honest, I hated my Captivate when I got it back in July when it came out… non-working GPS, uber lag to the point of insane frustration, bloatware, no tethering, no updates to Froyo, no support for bad call volume and quality, just crap!!!…until I flashed a custom ROM of leaked Froyo when that came out – buggy, but worked – now, you can do the same for Gingerbread – and I use stable, wonderful, perfect Froyo ROMs, and wow, I *LOVE* my phone – It’s like I get a new phone each ROM I flash :) I would hope that you could do the same for your Vibrant, and learn to love it hehe
