We just got our hands on one DROID Incredible 2 set to be released on Verizon April 28th for $199.99. It’s a world phone that builds on the successful model that was the original DROID Incredible. It’s a big bigger with its 4 inch WVGA Super LCD display and also has a front-facing camera despite the fact that this is not a 4G phone.
Other specs include a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, over 1GB of internal storage out of the box, a 16GB microSD card, a 1430 mAh battery, an 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording and dual LED flash to help in low light situations. You can expect Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.1 as far as software goes.
Although Verizon hasn’t confirmed it, we’re sure it’ll be getting a taste of ginger sometime down the line. What we don’t expect, however, is HTC Sense 3.0 – a heavily enhanced version of the layover found on the EVO 3D and the HTC Sensation. Check the unboxing video out above and expect our full review in the coming days. In the meantime, go ahead and chat with fellow souls excited for the device’s impending release at the DROID Incredible 2 section of our forums.

I’m very disappointed with the successor of the Droid Incredible…As an owner of the original, the specs aren’t so great comparing to the ones that will be coming out tomorrow on the 28th of April, the Droid Charge…missing are the LTE, updated screen resolutions, larger battery life (the battery for the original sucks!), etc… I will wait for a better one sometime this Fall as I’m pretty sure a newer and much more advance device will come out…then again, that Sony Xperia Play/Arc is very tempting :)
HTC makes some nice phones, but I’ll never buy one until they put one out that will give you more than 4 hours of battery life.
Lots of the early reviews I’m seeing say the battery life is good, even exceptional.
I’m hoping they’re true since I have the same problem with HTC phones.
Thats what root and custom roms are for :)
Check out JuiceDefender App, makes my original Droid be able to last at least full day and a half (moderate usage)
Anyone buying this thing would have to be pretty silly. It’s pretty much completely last generation. The only thing it really has going for it is that it’s a world phone which seems pretty rare for android.
What about it is completely “last generation”?
The 2nd-gen Snapdragon with an Adreno 205 chipset? The 768mbs of RAM? The 2nd-gen 8mpix camera and dual LED flash? The 1.3mpix front camera for video chat? The great 4″ SLCD display? The unique rotating buttons? The aluminum unibody chasis with Gorilla Glass screen? The thinner and lighter design than 4.3″ phones? The SIM card world phone capability? The better battery life than probably any other Android phone on the market? The upcoming Gingerbread update?
Seems like the best choice if you don’t want a more expensive or bigger 4.3″ screen phone, but ok.
For Verizon perhaps. Great network, phones lag behind the smaller carriers for whatever reason.
My thoughts on the Incredible’s sequel: http://wp.me/p1wchx-2j
I’ve been waiting for this phone for a few months now as my upgrade from a LG Dare. Well, I don’t think so. I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t use my upgrade on a year old DInc and save $200.
Original incredible is still a nice phone. Only reason to get part ii is world.
Really great video response to all unboxing videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrdHe__tt3U
That unboxing vid was hilarious.
Wasn’t there a worldwide ban on un-boxing videos?? I think there was.
