OGT is said to be working on a tablet that’ll shake up the industry and make you wonder why some of the things on it weren’t already featured on other products. They still have yet to officially unveil the thing (we’ve known of their plans since February), but our friends at Android Central have uncovered video of the device in brief action. We aren’t given much here, but at least we know it’s out there and we now know it’s running Android.
Specs, you say? Sure: a 1GHz processor (vendor and core count weren’t mentioned), 16GB and 32GB configurations, WiFi-only and WiFi+3G configurations, 5 megapixel rear and 3 megapixel front cameras, and a display with 188 pixels per inch. Oh, and they’re touting it as the world’s thinnest Android tablet at 7mm thin – quite the achievement if true. Be sure to sign up to be notified at their site if your interest has already been piqued. [OGT]
I don’t care what it does…its all about the price. Undercut Apple with a quality device and you will win. If moto had figured out how to get a $400 xoom out the door, then carries could subsidized at $249.99 and thats the end of that. I know its damn near impossible due to tech cost….but maybe taking a loss on the device for the sake of growing the brand might work. Look at the Evo (has sprint turned a profit on that thing yet?) a boy can dream right?
“I don’t care what it does…its all about the price.”
Well then the Veiwsonic gTablet or many of the other craptastic cheap tablets should work just fine for you.
Some of us though, would like a decent peace of hardware that provides a good user experience.
Gosh, looks like I’m never going to be buying a tablet with all these announcements.
No wonder, Android Tables sales are lower, we “the people” keep waiting on the news like these :)
too true, the only way at the moment I’d buy one was if inflation sky rocketed so I had to
Time will tell how true this is but from looking at the video, the tablet does not seem 7mm thin. In my opinion, there’s no point in a company announcing anything if they are more than a couple of months away from release. Otherwise they’re just creating hype.
@Lcg- i don’t think you can afford a tablet..you cheapcake . Go stay with your Clone Ipad . Companies need to profits to improved future products
You remember the crunchpad? $199… It’s not at all being ‘cheap’ as you say to get a decent priced tab. These tabs, including ipad are way over priced IMO. IYO they are not, cool man. But don’t go calling people cheap because they don’t want to pay 4 or 5 bills on a tablet.
I personally don’t see the usefulness of a tab at over $300, I have a Droid X I have a 13.3 thin and light Toshiba win7 notebook, a tab is just a convenience to me and it’s not very convenient until the price comes down to where I BELIEVE THE CONSUMER SWEETSPOT IS = $199 just mo of course
To me a ‘shake up’ would be $199 or $249. This tab seems a little skimpy on specs so lets get tabs where they ought to be in the first place! (imo)
Seems nothing but news of ‘coming’ tablets. Nothing out there yet, at a decent price. By the time they finally release, it’ll be old hat, and many will have given up waiting and purchased an iPad.
Yawn
why are there capacitive buttons? if it isn’t running Honeycomb, idc
Yeah, I’m getting tired of all these announcements and nothing to go buy. What is the point of enticing me? This only gets me pissed off to the point where I should just go buy and iMaxiPad2 and just give my money to Apple. At least when they give a sneak peek they have their product out in 2 weeks. COME ON, Samsung, Asus, Toshiba, LG, Viewsonic, HTC!!!! Get with the program and launch already and if you build a demand then you get more into stores.
Don’t waste your time folks……I call bogus……”the rest of the story” will come out soon enough.
Here….I’ll give it to you straight…..look here…

There. There’s your answer.
Hint: Think, just another Augen, with this years parts.
nothing special here.
Android’s tablets need more apps before I will even consider buying one.
