“Dual-Core Powered” Motorola DROID X2 Makes Quick Appearance on Video

25

If you didn’t believe this thing was real and that it’d be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor then perhaps this video should do well to quell any of those doubts.  Not much to see in this video aside from the boot-up process, but it’s yet another indication of the device’s impending launch. The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. That could be a DX running a leaked Gingerbread build with a custom boot image, couldn’t it?

    1. That was my thought the second I watched the video.

    2. seeing how long it took to boot up sounds like it. dual core better not take 45 seconds to boot

  2. Why do the new versions of the Droid, Droid X, and Droid Incredible look almost exactly the same as previous models.

    95% the same.

    1. The Same Reason A Sequel To A Movie Has The Same Theme As It’s Previous..

      1. And sequels tend to suck. Other phones don’t look the same the second or
third time like the: G1to G2, Mytouch 3G to 4G, Nexus One to S, Samsung
        Galaxy S to S2.

        1. nearly all HTC phones look the same….I guess Motorola is following behind HTC

    2. the same reason a new desktop looks a lot like a desktop from 5 years ago… its about the hardware INSIDE the device… why does every iphone look IDENTICAL?

      1. They like to keep things simple.

  3. This looks like an original DX I thought the DX2 was supposed to have a ffc??

  4. Ok so it’s dualcore great but why will this dualcore device be on 3g and not LTE on verizon??? This device is also going to suffer the same fate the Droid Incredible 2 and Droid 3 it’s really to bad. The only way verizon can fool people into paying 300.00 and 250.00 for old specs in new devices is if the devices come with LTE ie thunderbolt, Droid Bionic, Samsung Charge. I guess the Droid X2 will be the same price as the Incredible 2 199.00

    1. You, sir, are correct. Seems like a big waste of money to “invest” on a 3g phone these days.

      1. You must be new here no one agrees with Yarrell, no one.

        1. He actually has a point this time, one that many people have cried about over and over.

      2. Some people are happy enough to be on 3G. I know I am on my 1+ year old Samsung Moment. The only reason I’ll be getting a 4G phone when my upgrade comes around is because Sprint is now charging the $10 fee to all smartphones, regardless of if the device is 3G or 4G. Otherwise, I’d be getting a 3G phone. Where I specifically live has no access to 4G and I don’t venture into the DC area, where there supposedly is 4G, enough to give a crap.

    2. Bionic will be their 4G Motorola, and probably their Targa as well. So the Droid and DroidX will be 3G, and the Bionic and Targa will be 4G. 4 phones, even split between 3G/4G. Simple enough for you?

    3. So by your own logic, Sprint shouldn’t be releasing any devices that don’t have 4G? Riiiiiiight. Because “everyone” can get 4G where they live and/or work…

  5. I currently have the Droid X and absolutely love it, however, I am going to pass on Droid X2 in favor of Samsung Galaxy S II

    1. I agree. I have the original Droid and I don’t really like it, I’ve been looking at the specs of the Galaxy S II and they seem better than any other phone. And that benchmark from yesterday decided it.

  6. For Moto’s sake I hope this isn’t the Droid X2. The hardware was ugly to begin with. Why would they release the new version with zero changes? That’s not fresh or exciting in any way.

    1. So that they can make more money off of people who aren’t as informed as us here on Phandroid (some of us). They didn’t bother to redesign it or add 4G.

  7. Looks exactly like the X. If I got this my friends would say wheres your new phone at.

  8. Call me when it has an unlocked bootloader, untill then… meh.

  9. idont think this is real at all…its likely just a DX …ireally doubt its a DX2.

  10. Fail. My Thunderbolt takes 9 seconds to boot.
